What a guide here is, and is not

A Gemfile Review guide is an editorial note on a Rails library: what it does, whether it is still maintained, and what usually replaces it. It is not a security audit of your application, not a support channel for any gem, and not a directory listing. Gems cannot be submitted, coverage cannot be bought, and nothing is sold here.

Sources and version checks

Release numbers and dates come from the RubyGems.org API or the project's changelog, with the date they were checked; framework behaviour is linked to the Rails Guides, the API documentation or the gem's repository. If a project's status is unclear, the guide says so.

Names, code and photos

Gem and framework names belong to their authors. The text of every guide is original. The opening photographs are public-domain or CC0 images, each traced to its source on the photo credits page.

Gemfile Review is independent and not affiliated with RailsPlugins.org, the community site that once used this domain, nor with the later owners of the address.
