Privacy

Gemfile Review is read-only: you cannot sign in, comment or subscribe, and the guides carry no ads and no analytics. No cookie is placed on your machine.

What is collected

• By Gemfile Review: nothing. The gem guides are pre-built HTML; we have no idea which ones you read, and we do not try to find out.
• By Cloudflare, which hosts the guides: its edge servers log each request (IP address, time, the URL asked for) to serve the page and block abusive traffic. The host is identified in the legal notice.
• Fonts and scripts: there is not a line of JavaScript on the guides. Newsreader for the text and IBM Plex Mono for Gemfile snippets are files on our own server, so your browser never asks a font service for them.

Images

The steam engines, stopwatches and other opening photographs are copies kept alongside the guides, so displaying them contacts no outside image host. Where each one comes from is on the photo credits page.

Links to other sites

Links to the Rails Guides, RubyGems.org and gem repositories are there so you can verify versions and claims; GitHub, RubyGems.org and the rest apply their own privacy rules once you arrive.
